but it's better if you do

What a blast this week! With everything blown over and gone by, it's time for projects once again!

Let's talk about sleep, one of my favourite topic:

"Unfortunately, during these stressful days, a solid 7-8 hours is harder and harder to come by. You don’t need me to tell you just how lousy and out of it you feel when you sleep badly."

Absolutely true! There's no limit to my hours of sleep, the longest it has stretched was 16 hours. It doesn't matter if people say it's a waste of time, sleeping in as the day goes by without realisation, as long as I enjoy it. Then again, the minimum hour I get to sleep could be 2 or 3. It's bad, but amazingly, it boosts my alertness the day after. I don't know how such strange things work, it might be an accumulation of year-long weariness, a sudden summon of all energy to keep the body going. I wouldn't want to try that.

I really don't like it when people discourage sleeping. Everyone needs sleep, it just a matter of hours difference varying from individuals. I'm absolutely certain, and I shall say it once more, sleep is not a waste of time.

Mental Fiction and Metal Friction follows, drawing a very thin line between them, either way, I'm exhausted even on the most free days! Now that you've got all the time in the world, it suddenly occurs to you that you don't know what you want to do with it. It's also like when you get to sleep early, you realise you don't feel like sleeping anymore. Strange as it is, it happens all the time!

Today, I came across 5 ways to promote good sleep

  • 1) SKIP THE SECOND ROUND

Second round here implies Alcohol. It's not my substitute for water. I don't need alcohol to help me sleep, neither do I acknowlegde that. So, check.

  • 2) CUT BACK ON CAFFEINE

Hoho, considering the fact that I rely on Caffeine at least 3 times daily, I doubt this is a good idea. When you appreciate coffee + you need it to stay alert + you drink that for most meals + you're subconsciously consuming large amounts of it and enjoying it, I don't know what can be the cure.

  • 3) OPEN A WINDOW

When sleeping. I do that 5 out of 7 days, as I learn to sleep without air-conditioning, because its unhealthy for breathing, skin conditions, body-works, and ofcourse $$$$$. Check.

  • 4) ORDER THE PASTA AT LUNCH, NOT DINNER

Either way, I don't like pasta.

  • 5) USE YOUR ALARM EVERY DAY (EVEN SUNDAYS)

On tired days, I snooze my alarm at least 10 times. On days where something important takes place, I wake up even before the alarm sounds. On school days, I wake up on the 2nd sound of it. But saturdays and sundays, I ignore the existance of the alarm.

Score: 2 out of 5. No wonder sleep is still on my most wanted list.
