you gotta do what you should

courtesy of red:

Almost laugh myself to tears at pure humility
How long can self-deception carry on for?
Have you come here for forgiveness?
Have you come here to raise your stakes?
Have you come here and do things you ought not to do?
Have you come here to waste your time on me?
Have you come here to test how far the limits can go?
Have you come here to boast about your emptiness?
Have you come here to learn a lesson from me?
Have you come here to be nobody?
Have you come here to play the saint and show me how to do it your way?
Have you come here to give mercy?
Have you come here to show me what its like to be human?
Have you come here to tell me things when I ain't even listening?
Have you come here because you have nowhere to go?
Have you come here to be what you are?
Have you come here to wake me up into something else?
Because everytime I wonder, what you're here for.

It's such a chore. To be closing an eye and strike off that memory of what you just witnessed. To practice forgiveness and give away second chances. It's such a pain, to be consoling yourself, and reassuring personas and yourself of others. It's such a bore, to play companion of the genuinely deceiving and lost identities. What a ride, to sit through all of it and still be alive today. What a feeling, to let go of those you know whom you should have let go of when the thought first came along.

Maybe the bad-tempered, unforgiving and emotionally ruthless isn't so bad afterall. At least, I do think so.
